Borderlands 2 VR is now available for PlayStation VR

2K and Gearbox Software announced the release of Borderlands 2 VR today, giving players a chance to fully experience the popular shooter-looter from a new standpoint. Borderlands 2 VR has been developed by Gearbox Software and brings the iconic world of Pandora back to life, where players are Vault Hunters exploring the outskirts of Pandora for Eridium whilst fighting the corrupt Hyperion Corporation lead by none other than Handsome Jack.

Here is a rundown of Borderlands 2 VR features:

  • Put virtual steps on Pandora. – For the first time, players can now experience the world of Pandora virtually, with plenty of action to go around. You can Catch-a-Ride and race your vehicles in a first-person perspective while experiencing an excruciating tension as a psycho is running towards you with a grenade in his hands.
  • Slow down time virtually. – New to the Borderlands 2 game is a unique VR experience that allows Vault Hunters to be stronger than ever: the Bad Ass Mega Fun Time (also known as BAMF Time). With the BAMF Time, players can slow the entire game and kill their opponents strategically by preparing for their next attack. Additionally, the option to teleport or slide on Pandora as Claptrap would have done it is also given to the players.
  • Become a virtual Vault Hunter. – As in the main game, there are four playable classes available: Siren, Commando, Gunzerker, and Assassin. Each class has their own unique fighting style with update skills to improve VR functionality.
  • Experience virtual improvements. – With the new VR functionality in the game, you can experience a first-person view from Pandora. Stepping on the gas pedal and steering your vehicle is done with the joystick, but the weapons of your vehicles are controller with your headset. By allowing players to use the joysticks and headset as they wish, they are given the ultimate freedom in the game.
  • Become rich! Virtually that is. – The shoot-and-loot system from Borderlands 2 has returned in Borderlands 2 VR, so you could potentially become rich in the virtual world of Pandora as you buy and sell random generated loot whilst improving the gear and armor of your character.
