Cardfight!! Vanguard Special Series 05: CoroCoro Start Deck Pack

In the past, we have seen quite a few cool collaborations for Cardfight!! Vanguard sets, such as Record of Ragnarok and Shaman King, but we feel like Bushiroad has outdone itself with their brand new CoroCoro collaboration. CoroCoro Comics has been around since 1977 in Japan and has been the host to many quirky comic book characters over the years. Bushiroad decided to add a few of these interesting characters to the ever-growing list of Vanguard options, and we absolutely loved it. With new (Vanguard) units and alternate versions of staple units from past sets, we truly enjoyed coming up with some new deck ideas.

The CoroCoro Start Deck Pack Booster Pack brings quite a lot of new cards to the table, and there are quite a few new decks to be built thanks to this. While we usually delve into specific cards, we actually want to dedicate a small portion to something very cool in the CoroCoro Start Deck Pack: you have the option to either opt for a C version of one of the new Vanguards or the RRR version. In general, the RRR version has a slightly better effect, but you can make fully functioning C-centered deck profiles that still provide you with a lot of fun. This way, a lot of players can enjoy a budget-friendly experience, while considering an upgraded RRR deck via purchasing additional cards or via trading in their local Cardfight!! Vanguard community.

If you’re interested in creating your own original CoroCoro deck profile, you’ll have to keep a few things in mind. When fine-tuning your deck recipe, you’ll still have to choose one Nation in which to create it. For example, in the case of a Dekka deck profile, you’ll have to choose either Keter Sanctuary or CoroCoro as the Nation for your deck profile. When choosing Keter Sanctuary, you will not be able to use cards that solely belong to the CoroCoro Nation, including their Single-Nation Triggers and Search Order. So, depending on which Nation you choose, your card options differ, and your Trigger lineup will be different. Dual Nation cards, of course, still work, and your Vanguard also keeps its Dual Nation properties.

For those who might just be interested in snagging a few cool alternate versions of units, you’ll find cool alternate versions of staple cards such as Forefront Knight, Teithfall, Detonation Monster, Bobalmine, What Color is your Wish, Valsheblan, Cooling Heart, Yuika, One Night Witch, Strega, and many, many more. This doesn’t just make this collaboration Booster Pack interesting for new deck recipes, but also to update older ones. We are truly looking forward to more card releases such as these.
