Lonely Mountains: Downhill gets a steampunk update
It feels like ages ago that we reviewed Lonely Mountains: Downhill and the Eldfjall Island DLC. The game has been going strong since 2019 and has amassed over 3.7 million players as of November 2022. To celebrate its success there have been three free DLCs released to add additional tracks and environments. These include “Redmoor Falls”, “Riley’s Return” and “Misty Peak”. We also get a Steampunk-inspired update in the form of Season 20: Fullmetal Rider. This new season brings a bunch of additional customization items to make your character fit in a true Steampunk setting. However, you will first need to complete the various challenges thrown at you in order to claim these glorious rewards.

- Become a globetrotter with the World Traveller outfit
- Take a plunge into the deep with the Dive Suit outfit, Diver’s Tank and Diver’s Helmet
- Cook up some potent potions with the Alchemist outfit
- Travel far and wide with the Pilot outfit and Pilot Hat
- Add some brass to your bike with the Mekanika paint job
- Soar the skies in the Wings backpack
- Suit up with the Steampunk Tophat
Lonely Mountains: Downhill is a racing game where you must take your bicycle and race off the mountain to your camp in the quickest time possible. This won’t be an easy task as the beautiful nature and rocky trials will require the most skilled bikers to not crash around every corner. Fortunately, you have a range of different bicycles at your disposal, each suited for different terrains. Drive, jump and hold on to dear life as you fly down the hill, dodging the rocks and flying over rivers. However, if you rather take in the scenery then you can always cruise down, taking in the fresh air and enjoying the birds singing. Just make sure to bring a controller on the trip if you are on PC, as the game is best enjoyed with the comfort of one of those.
Lonely Mountains: Downhill is available for Switch, Xbox One, PC, Steam Deck and PlayStation 4.
