Collectible cardgame Battlecast for Skylanders released

After a lengthy wait, it is finally time to experience the mobile cardgame Skylanders Battlecast first hand. Based on Activision’s award-winning Skylanders video game series, Skylanders Battlecast is a free-to-play mobile card game in which players can build their ultimate deck of cards with their favorite Skylander characters. All you have to do is visit your mobile app store – whether it is the App Store, Google Play or Amazon Appstore – and download the game to begin your quest.

The gameplay experience can be enhanced by going to local retailers who will offer physical card packs in the form of booster packs and battle packs. These card packs truly bring Skylanders Battlecast cards to life by allowing the player to scan the physical cards with their mobile devices, resulting the cards to spring to life via augmented reality. The cards can also be added to an in-game digital spell book which in turn allows you to grow your collection, giving you the opportunity to customize your deck even more.

We continue to provide a variety of fun new ways for fans to explore Skylanders and Skylanders Battlecast is an amazing new innovation,” says Josh Taub, senior vice president, Product Management, Activision Publishing. “Our mobile card game offers players not only a collectible experience but also augmented reality, PvP and an exciting single-player campaign.”

Skylanders Battlecast is available via your mobile app store while the battle packs – featuring 22 cards – will be available for the suggested retail price of $9,99 or its local equivalent. The Skylanders booster pack includes a random selection of 8 cards for a suggest retail price of $4,99.
